Once you find out the gender of your baby you’re probably thinking of possible name choices. However, if you’re anything like my husband and I we had both girl and boy names picked out long before we had our daughter. Even though we were almost 100% on her name, we still felt the need to do some browsing just in case there was another name out there that we fell in love with.
If we are to have a boy in the future, we’ve already been throwing ideas around for strong boy names. I do believe that names are huge part of a person’s identity and I find myself naturally gravitating toward strong masculine names. Since I’ll only be able to pick one, here are a bunch more with middle names that will hopefully give you some great ideas. Play around with these and see what you can come up with!
This post is all about strong boy names with middle names that are unforgettable.

Helpful tips on how to pick a name
There are many different considerations that you may to take into account when deciding on a name. If you’re not sure where to begin, here are tips to help you pick a name that’s perfect for not only your son (or sons), but your family.
Pronunciation
What does the name sound like out loud? Sometimes, a name might look perfect on paper but when you go to say it out loud it doesn’t sound so perfect anymore. Practice saying the name over and over again along with the middle and last name. You will know when it sounds right!
Meaning
For many couples, the meaning of the name holds a lot of weight in the final decision. Your baby’s name is an everlasting part of their identity and can also have multiple meanings depending on the language. When you’re down to 4 or 5 names, it would be a good idea to search the name and see if there is more than one meaning. If that’s the case, choose the meaning that you like most.
Religious or cultural reasons
If your religious or cultural background is important to you, you could start by looking for names in your religious text or by asking your family. From there, you could look (or ask) for the meanings and figure out which one you love most.
Fit
For some, having the name “fit” with the family might be the most important deciding factor. Do you have other children whose names begin with the name letter? What are their nicknames? Lastly, how do all of their names sound together? All important things to consider!
Specific Letters
Starting with a specific letter is one of the easiest ways to narrow down the number of names to pick from. You can even start with letters that you definitely don’t want the name to start with and go from there. It would also be helpful to start a list and run through it multiple times to hone in on your favorites.
Initials
Lastly, initials are sometimes overlooked but they’re good to consider. If your baby will have a longer name like “Alexander Joseph”, his initials would be A.J. and would make for a perfect nickname. If you would like the initials to be the name for all of your children, that would be a great place to start too.
Popularity
Lastly, you may want to consider how popular the name is. Will your child have the same name as 3 other kids in their class or is the name a little too unique? If you go with a name that’s higher on the popularity list, you can always pair it with a more unique middle name.
